This particular layout is typically used on comic covers or video game cases to introduce the viewer to each main character. usually there isn't a background in these.
This one has two characters based loosely off of my friend's characters and one of mine, pretending to be eebil XD SO DON'T STEAL THEM. They are copyrighted. Its very sketchy but more defined than the other two because without tonal masses the characters are difficult to see.
You too may use this but for example only (no stealing the characters or claiming the artwork as your own) In case you need to show someone what a "book cover layout" looks like.
