Leafeon and Caterpie Commission

This piece was done for CrazyComicLady. I decided to color the eyes of Leafeon a sort of hazel-greenish color. I think they turned out really pretty! This is one of my new favorite pieces. I really like the way it turned out.

I like the slightly transparent look to her tail and the leaf on her head- the light coming from the background would shine through leaves so I felt that it would be a nice touch.

I almost over-colored her face- I don't have the right color to match Leafeon's fur in the official art, so I had to layer with E30 and Y000. The combination makes just the right color, but its hard to add shading without messing it up. Looks like I need to get a new marker color- I would prefer to have the correct color next time. Tons of Pokemon feature this creamy yellow and I want to make them as easy to color as possible, should someone else commission one in the future.

I used my lightest pink for the bow. My other pinks are either dry or very highlighter-ish. I think if it were any brighter it wouldn't tie in with the other colors in the image very well.

I went ahead and covered up the extra fluff I originally inked in with my gel pen. It was a little distracting. I was worried it would become a grey blob but it was bothering me. Now that it is white, the fluffers are still there but not as bold. It looks better.
